GLASS FLOOR FOR AN OUTDOOR DECK
Glass Floor is one of the many applications of this beautiful material, mostly used in commercial settings. On this page we wanted to showcase an amazing project completed by our team.
This is an addition of the residential house covering basement walk up and also serving as a deck. Each piece of glass is 12 feet long, it is a three layers of 1/2″ thick glass tempered for safety and sandwiched together with heavy duty outdoor laminate
It all starts with a very strong support structure to support the weight of the glass. Customer opted for a structural steel welded frame. Each piece of glass is 1 1/2″ thick and weights approximately 600 pounds.
This project is complemented with frameless glass guard rails around the patio. Glass floor is extremely strong and and can hold a lot of weight.
Large sandwiched glass pieces are extremely heavy, so we had to use a crane for this project to carry glass to the backyard and safely set it in place.
